Pleo is a spend management platform built around company cards. It issues physical and virtual cards to employees, captures receipts at the point of purchase, sets spending limits per person or team, and pushes the categorized transactions into the accounting tool.
Pleo solves the capture and policy side of spend: every card payment is logged, attached to a receipt, and tagged before it ever reaches the books. It works in the same space as Spendesk, with a strong focus on real-time visibility and clean expense data.
What Pleo does not do is control whether that spend is legitimate once it lands. Duplicate subscriptions, card payments with no matching invoice, and recurring tools nobody uses still slip through. Verifying spend against the rest of the finance stack is a separate job.
That is where Phacet adds a control layer on top. The expense report control agent checks claims against policy and supporting documents, while the card spend agent detects duplicate SaaS tools and anomalies across cards. Each control exposes its reasoning through a native audit trail.
Pleo and Phacet are complementary: Pleo captures and structures spend at the source, Phacet controls and reconciles it afterwards. Together, finance teams gain both clean spend data and the assurance that every euro spent was checked, not just recorded.
