OTA reconciliation (Booking, Expedia)

OTA reconciliation is the process of matching the revenue, commissions, and payouts from online travel agencies (OTAs) like Booking.com and Expedia against what a hotel actually receives and records. Because OTAs deduct commission and pay on their own schedule, the amount that lands in the bank rarely matches the room revenue booked.

For hotel finance teams, this is one of the most painful reconciliations. A single OTA payout bundles many reservations, minus a commission percentage, minus cancellations, sometimes split across virtual cards or transfers weeks after the stay. Tying each payout back to the right bookings, and confirming the commission charged matches the contract, is slow and error-prone by hand.

Left uncontrolled, OTA reconciliation hides overcharged commissions, missing payouts, and revenue that was earned but never collected.

Phacet automates it. The agent that bridges platform revenue to accounting maps OTA payouts to the right reservations and accounts, while the payment gateway, bank, and ERP reconciliation agent ties net payouts to bank deposits and the bank transaction agent surfaces unmatched flows. AI Match handles the semantic pairing that exact-amount rules miss, with reasoning exposed.

The OTA reports the booking and takes its cut. Phacet proves the cut was correct and the rest was collected, giving hospitality groups a clean bridge between channels, bank, and ledger.
