Inpulse

Inpulse is a food cost management software for restaurants and food service operators. It tracks recipes, theoretical versus actual food cost, inventory counts, and margin per dish, helping operations teams understand where margin leaks between what should be consumed and what actually is.

Inpulse answers an operational question: is the kitchen producing at the expected cost. It models recipes, monitors stock variance, and flags when real food cost drifts above target. This is margin control on the consumption side, driven by usage and inventory data.

It is important not to confuse this with invoice control. Food cost software assumes the supplier prices it receives are correct. It does not check whether the invoice charged the negotiated price, whether a delivery was short, or whether a supplier quietly raised a rate. Food cost is not the same as billing accuracy.

Phacet covers that second, financial side. The food supplier price list control agent verifies each invoice line against the agreed mercuriale and flags overcharges before payment, while the margin labeling agent tags supplier transactions so margin tracking rests on verified data.

Inpulse and Phacet are complementary, not competing: Inpulse optimizes how food is used, Phacet guarantees the prices you were billed are the prices you agreed. Restaurant groups need both to protect margin end to end, as shown across food and beverage operations.
