French chart of accounts (PCG)

The French chart of accounts, the Plan Comptable Général (PCG), is the standardized list of accounts that every company keeping accounts in France must use. It defines numbered account classes (assets, liabilities, expenses, revenue, and more) so that all French bookkeeping follows the same structure.

The PCG is the backbone of French accounting. Every entry maps to a normalized account number, which makes financial statements comparable across companies and readable by auditors, banks, and the tax administration. Working outside the PCG, or mapping to it inconsistently, breaks that comparability.

The practical challenge appears when data comes from many sources: foreign subsidiaries, ERP systems with their own coding, or imported transactions that do not follow French account numbers. Aligning all of it to the PCG, consistently, is tedious and easy to get wrong.

Phacet automates that alignment. The agent that standardizes and reclassifies accounting data at scale maps heterogeneous data onto the correct PCG accounts, the agent that automates French-style account matching handles lettrage on those accounts, and the agent that checks your analytical mapping table verifies the coding holds. Every transformation is traceable through a native audit trail.

The PCG is the common language of French accounts. Phacet makes sure every transaction speaks it correctly, whatever system it came from.
