Natural language processing (NLP)

Natural language processing (NLP) is a field of artificial intelligence that enables computers to understand, interpret, and generate human language. By combining linguistics and machine learning, NLP allows systems to extract meaning from unstructured text, whether that text comes from emails, invoices, contracts, or reports.

In finance and administration, NLP bridges the gap between raw information and actionable insight. At Phacet, NLP powers the ability of AI agents to process natural language instructions such as “identify overdue payments” or “extract supplier names from contracts”. Users can simply write what they want, and the system translates it into a precise, automated workflow, no coding required.

This capability is what makes Phacet’s AI no-code interface so intuitive. NLP allows finance teams to configure agents in plain English or French, while maintaining control over each result. When combined with machine learning and human-in-the-loop supervision, it ensures that every automation remains explainable, auditable, and aligned with business logic.

Beyond commands, NLP also helps Phacet’s agents extract meaning from unstructured financial data, reading clauses in contracts, identifying amounts in messy PDFs, or detecting anomalies in written justifications. It transforms language into structured, reliable information ready for reconciliation, reporting, or compliance analysis.

Through NLP, Phacet turns complex financial documents into understandable, usable data, bringing intelligence and clarity to the heart of finance automation.
